Hi there, I’m Ross, a certified alternative healing practitioner, among many other certifications and modalities, but before any of those titles, I am simply a human being who has spent every day of my life learning, struggling, growing, questioning, and searching for a deeper understanding of myself and the world around me.
MY JOURNEY
My journey has not been a straight path, and it certainly hasn’t always been an easy one.
Like everyone, I have experienced hardships, setbacks, questions, and moments that challenged the way I saw myself and the world around me. For much of my life, I was learning how to navigate those experiences without fully understanding why certain things seemed more difficult for me than they appeared to be for others.
In my early thirties, I discovered that I am autistic. That realization gave me a new lens through which to understand myself and many of the experiences I had carried throughout my life. It wasn’t an answer to everything, but it helped me begin connecting pieces of myself that had never quite seemed to fit together.
I also spent approximately 25 years in law enforcement, including serving as a Chief of Police. That career shaped me profoundly. It taught me about responsibility, leadership, human behavior, trauma, resilience, compassion, and the many different battles people can be fighting beneath the surface.
Over the years, I began to understand that strength isn’t always about how much we can endure. Sometimes strength is being willing to look inward, question what we’ve been taught, acknowledge the parts of ourselves we’ve struggled to accept, and choose to grow.
That process led me deeper into meditation, yoga, spirituality, energy work, and the study of the connection between the mind, body, and spirit. Along the way, I continued learning, earning certifications, exploring different modalities, and, perhaps most importantly, learning how to have more compassion for myself.
I’ve learned to love myself more and more each day.
That doesn’t mean I have all the answers. It means I understand what it is like to be searching for them.
And that is a large part of why I do this work today.
Through The Zen Moon, my goal is not to tell someone who they should be or what their journey should look like. I want to provide a safe, compassionate space where people can slow down, be heard, reconnect with themselves, explore their own inner world, and discover the tools that may help them move forward.
Whether someone is struggling to understand themselves, carrying experiences that have changed them, searching for greater balance, or simply feeling lost and unsure of where to begin, I want to meet them where they are.
I don’t believe healing means becoming a different person.
Sometimes, it means finally learning how to understand, accept, and love the person you’ve been all along.
